Become a Care Coordinator

Care Coordinators are the heart of Transcend the Binary. Our Care Coordinators are there to understand clients and help them navigate their own unique journey. A Care Coordinator affirms the gender identity of their clients, offers resources, and is there for support. Care Coordinators (and all members of Transcend) also have a say in organization-wide decisions and help to direct the future of Transcend!

Care Coordinators Are

  • Comfortable working with new people
  • Comfortable answering phone calls and returning messages
  • Comfortable using Gmail to communicate with clients
  • Knowledgeable about the obstacles for trans folx accessing good medical care
  • Familiar with what trans medical care can entail, or is willing to learn this
  • Non-assuming about gender and use gender-affirming language
