Join us for TDOE, Embrace Your True Self, hosted by our friends at the Gender-Identity Network Alliance!
This day-long event is free and will feature multiple speakers and workshops that will provide you with resources to help you on your journey to discovering and empowering your true self in many areas of life. Over 10 workshops have been scheduled, covering themes such as discussion and education, how-tos, and going beyond. Wherever you are on your journey, we can provide resources to help you take control of your identity.
This event is also an opportunity to discover our shared strength and connect with other members of the community. Although the most important relationship is with yourself, there are many people who will support you as you discover and improve your relationship with your authentic self. You are not alone.
The keynote speech and opening remarks will be delivered by Jay Kaplan. Other speakers include Dr. Sandra Samons, Dr. Stephen Rassi, Kimberly Jarzembowski, Gerri Carney, Kael Kirkpatrick, Lolita Davis, Hannah Hartley, Bridie Johnson, Roz Keith, Emme Zanotti, Samantha Rogers, Julisa Abad, Brayden Asher Misiolek, and Jack Elliott Earls.
Although this event is for trans individuals, allies and members of the general community are welcome to attend to gain insight into the trans community and learn how they can offer support.
The event lasts from 10:30 am – 5:00 pm and will be held at the Wayne State Student Center at 5221 Gullen Mall, Detroit. A free catered breakfast and afternoon snacks will be provided.
